A glimpse of the potential of task-based language teaching in fostering effective communication (on the example of the topic Mood Food)

Загальновідомо, що сучасний світ дедалі більше глобалізується. Бажання студентів стати багатомовними є зрозумілим і виправданим. Без сумніву, ті, хто вільно володіє не лише рідною, а й іншими мовами, матимуть вищу конкурентоспроможність на ринку праці. Знання іноземної мови, особливо англійської, є нагальною потребою як для професійного, так і особистісного зростання. Це також вважають важливим складником майбутнього професійного іміджу. Усі ці передумови стали підставою для запровадження в Черкаському державному бізнес-коледжі елективного курсу “Communicative English”. Запропонований інструментарій може слугувати набором ресурсів учителя для сприяння ефективній комунікації за темою MOOD FOOD. Аналіз основних сучасних тенденцій у викладанні ESL доводить, що Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) продовжуватиме домінувати в процесі навчання іноземних мов. Матеріал розроблено відповідно до підходу TBLT, що сприяє залученню студентів до змістовного спілкування. TBLT поєднується з іншими освітніми підходами, такими як автентичність, гейміфікація навчання, культурна обізнаність, творчість, співпраця, навчання на основі запитів. Представлені завдання та види діяльності дають змогу вчителю створити навчальне середовище, а не просто класну кімнату, надихаючи учнів і досягаючи кращих результатів навчання.
An institutional approach to the analysis of kleptocratic economy in the context of Europeanization

Relevance. Kleptocratic economy, as an institutional system, is oriented towards a key function that involves gaining wealth by the ruling elite through the introduction of non-market transaction costs for companies and households, which is based on administrative, bureaucratic, and political violence. For this purpose, the kleptocratic states create such systems of state institutional management that give the authorities the possibility of rent-oriented behaviour, which impedes the functioning of the real sector of the economy and encourages the shadow one. Under such circumstances, transaction costs are redirected to administrative intervention into the market mechanism, rather than aimed at increasing its efficiency; property rights are not clearly specified; the level of uncertainty about rules and norms of economic behaviour increases, and the motivational system of business activity is distorted. As a result, on the one hand, inefficient allocation of resources and slow economic growth (decline) are observed, and on the other hand, there is the redistribution of income in favour of the ruling elite and its excessive enrichment, that is detrimental to the welfare of the majority of the population. The aim of the article is to analyse the political-economic formation of a kleptocratic basis, which in the future transforms the state and its economy into kleptocratic formations; defining ways of counteraction and institutional capacity for transformations in the direction of Ukraine’s aspirations for European integration. Methodological basis.The methodological basis of the research is the work of domestic and foreign scientists in the field of institutionalism and kleptocratic economy. The models of the development of a kleptocratic state and the influence of kleptocratic factors on the socio-economic processes in the country have been studied with the application of the method of analysis, systematization, and generalization. Results. It is determined that in order to liquidate the grounds of kleptocratic economy, it is of primary necessity to eliminate institutional obstacles that interfere with the unification of the legal and shadow sectors of the economy and ensure their institutional formalization. This requires the introduction of effective ways of restraining the ruling elite in order to restrict corruption abuses of the government and its close reigning coalition with special privileges and bureaucracies and form an institutional structure, in which firms and households have clearly defined property rights and also have the possibility to protect contractual rights provided by formal institutes. Particular attention should be paid to the ways of civil society’s monitoring the state information policy and methods of adopting laws, which is, the institutional foundation that guarantees the openness of information as to the actions of government institutions. According to the results of the study, definite measures are proposed, the implementation of which will ensure the opportunities for Europeanization, particularly in Ukraine. The emphasis is placed on the fact that the important factors of counteracting the kleptocratic economy are the wage reform and the “transparent” selection of employees in the public administration sector on the basis of their professional qualities only.

The study substantiates the reason for the destabilization of the regional development processes in Ukraine after the armed attack of the russian federation.The problems faced by Ukraine's economy during the invasion are identified. Losses and expenses incurred by business, financial and economic activities of economic entities during the studied period of the full-scale invasion of the russian federation are analyzed and illustrated. Ways to restore the activities of economic entities are suggested.
Application of the matrix factor analysis method for determining parameters of the objective function for transport risk minimization

The paper regards a common transport problem with a non-classic optimization criterion to minimize transportation risks. It demonstratesthat the risk parameters of the function could be found through the factor analysis method. Besides, considering that the problem contains several pointsof sending and delivering loads, the method is dealt with as a matrix. The research also regards the algorithm of matrix factor analysis applicationfor determining parameters of the objective function for the problem to be solved. The survey results in a new method to construct the objective functionfor the optimization problem with probability parameters. It generally assists in suggesting a formal solution to such problems, foremost due to particular software.
Application of the Polynomial Maximization Method for Estimating Nonlinear Regression Parameters with Non-Gaussian Asymmetric Errors

In the article, an alternative approach to estimating parameters in nonlinear regression models under asymmetric error distributions is examined. A novel approach for adaptive estimation is proposed, which is based on the use of second-order polynomial functions. This enables a straightforward implementation to account for deviations from Gaussian idealization in the form of moments up to the fourth order. It is demonstrated that the overall problem can algorithmically be reduced to the numerical solution of a system of nonlinear stochastic equations. Analytical expressions are obtained, which facilitate the estimation of parameters and the analysis of their asymptotic variance. Statistical modeling using the Monte Carlo method was conducted, and the results indicate that the accuracy of PMM2 estimates is comparable to SLS estimates and significantly so exceeds the accuracy of OLS estimates.

This paper considers the application of the polynomial maximization method to find estimates of the parameters of polynomial regression. It is shown that this method can be effective for the case when the distribution of the random component of the regression models differs significantly from the Gaussian distribution. This approach is adaptive and is based on the analysis of higher-order statistics of regression residuals. Analytical expressions that allow finding estimates and analyzing their uncertainty are obtained. Cases of asymmetry and symmetry of the distribution of regression errors are considered. It is shown that the variance of estimates of the polynomial maximization method can be significantly less than the variance of the estimates of the least squares method, which is a special case. The increase in accuracy depends on the values of the cumulant coefficients of higher orders of random errors of the regression model. The results of statistical modeling by the Monte Carlo method confirm the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Assessing Imbalance between Labor Quality and Needs of the Labor Market of Ukraine: Educational Challenges

The purpose of the study is to assess the imbalance between the quality of labor and the needs of the national labor market and harmonize the supply of the national education system to meet the demands of social production. The analysis of actual (statistical) data is carried out; the method of expert survey is used to identify imbalances between labor and education markets. The needs of the national labor market for experts with digital and creative skills are substantiated. The authors focused on the problem of imbalance in the market of educational services and demand for labor with appropriate skills in the labor market of Ukraine. According to the results of the analysis, it has been found that the domestic labor market is characterized, on the one hand, by excessive qualification of the labor force, which is manifested in the excess of the educational level of employees over the demand for such specialists. This is reflected in the lack of decent jobs in the national labor market. On the other hand, the national labor market is characterized by a shortage of employees with digital skills. Expert assessments of specialists in labor, education and digital economy have revealed a lack of focus of all education levels on the formation of digital and creative skills in the actual and potential labour force. Approaches to the study of imbalances in national labor markets and educational services have been further developed. The main trends in labor skills formation and demand for them among employers in the national labor market in the context of digitalization have been identified. Compared with previous studies, the research contains the results of an expert survey. The obtained results serve as a research basis for the development of strategic decisions in the field of markets balancing and education in the context of digitalization of the economy.
Benefits of Human-Centered Digitalization in the Context of Ukrainian Labor Market

Black Friday аs а Tool for Sales Promotion

The article summarizes scientific views and defines the term of sales promotion. Features of promotion and sales promotion in B2C (Business-to-Consumer) markets are revealed. The use of digital marketing tools in the process of stimulating the sales of goods through digital channels, in particular through online stores, as well as the use of search engine optimization (SEO) and SMM-marketing is substantiated. Marketing communications and sales promotion elements used by retailers when preparing for seasonalsales are considered. The activity of consumers to retailers in the period of the preparation for grand sales, tools used by retail trade to influence the consumer and improve the activity of sales of goods is studied. The authors summarize and analyze statistic data of such online platforms as Black-friday.global, Picodi, Google Trends. The factors influencing the opportunities of online shopping and retail during Black Friday are explored and outlined. The peculiarities of trading platforms functioning, which provide online shopping space for various retail enterprises and offer marketing communications of retailers to increase the efficiency of product promotion on the Internet, are highlighted.
Building culturological background knowledge for developing business English communication skills

Cognitive and Procedural Aspects of Foreign Language Coursebook Modelling in Terms of Culturological Approach

The article deals with the problem of modelling the contents of the coursebook on the principles of culturological approach. The textual and nontextual components of the coursebook contents have been analyzed. Possible ways of representation of cultural objects and phenomena in the coursebook contents have been offered. The necessity of covering all structural components of the contents of professional foreign language teaching and learning in higher educational institutions during the selection of coursebook materials has been grounded.
Coherence of accounting systems: transcendence of content and immunity of purpose

The article deals with the essence of the transcendental approach to determining the content of accounting systems, which the authors propose for praxological use not by philosophical interpretation (unknowable) but by linguistic understanding (what goes beyond) and subjective active perception (something no one used). It is proved that the definitive formogenesis of national wealth allows to determine the factors of legitimization of its use as a system-forming basis of existential-humanistic foundations of awareness of social relations and their quantitative reflection in accounting systems. Methodological approaches to the formation of national wealth by its system-forming elements have been improved through a combination of general theoretical and specifically historical approaches to understanding both the very essence of wealth and the broader sources and economic mechanisms of its accumulation and social distribution. It is substantiated that the methodological foundations of accounting and informational display of national wealth are structured by organizational provisions of accounting policy, which is detailed as an inter-level accounting and synthetic service of accentuated objectification of a research object.

Comprehensive analysis of consumer properties of nutria velour hudrophobicized with alkenmalein-acrylsyntane composition

Досліджено комплекс споживних властивостей гідрофобізованого хутрового велюру нутрії з використанням алкенмалеїно-акрилсинтанової композиції. Склад цієї композиції включає алкенмалеїновий полімер, поліакриловий полімер і синтанний дубитель. Процес наповнювання-гідрофобізації хутрового велюру нутрії проводиться за рН робочого розчину 6,8–7,0, температури 40–43°С та тривалості три години і закінчується за рН 3,8–4,0. Гідрофобізований хутровий велюр нутрії отримували з неякісної за волосяним покривом сировини, неоднорідної структури в різних топографічних ділянках та зниженої щільності, але із задовільними фізико-механічними властивостями шкірної тканини. Встановлено вплив складу наповнювально-гідрофобізуючої композиції на фізико-хімічні властивості хутрового велюру. Зокрема досліджено характеристики: сумарний тепловий опір, динамічне водопромокання, всмоктування краплі води, крайовий кут змочування, намокання, паропроникність, повітропроникність та ін. Встановлено також оптимальний склад алкенмалеїно-акрилсинтанової композиції, який забезпечує формування модифікованого хутрового велюру зі шкурок нутрії з комплексом підвищених споживних властивостей порівняно з велюром овчини. Зокрема при гідрообробленні зниження показників сумарного теплового опору та паропроникності гідрофобізованого хутрового велюру нутрії проявляється у меншій мірі відповідно в 9,7 і у 1,7 рази порівняно з велюром овчини. При цьому естетичні показники велюру нутрії – колористичне оформлення та якість оздоблення шкірної тканини – також переважають велюр овчини на 39–41%. Одержані результати гідрофобізації хутрового велюру з комплексом необхідних споживних властивостей свідчать про можливість розширення асортименту матеріалів з хутрової сировини з неякісним волосяним покривом, але задовільними фізико-механічними показниками шкірної тканини. При цьому виготовлені хутрові вироби з гідрофобізованого велюру нутрії будуть придатні для експлуатації в умовах підвищеної вологості.
Comprehensive evaluation quality of biofortified pumpkin vegetables

Нині значна увага у світі зосереджена на одержанні рослинної сировини з підвищеним вмістом життєвоважливих сполук. Одним із напрямків, який постійно розвивається, є біофортифікація шляхом застосування спеціальних добрив під час вирощування. Мета: Проведення комплексної оцінки якості біофортифікованих гарбузових овочів з урахуванням вмісту важливих мікро- і макронутрієнтів та органолептичних показників. Методи: комплексний метод оцінки рівня якості. Результати: Біофортифіковані гарбузові овочі відрізняються підвищеним вмістом макро- і мікроелементів і відмінними органолептичними властивостями. Висновки: комплексні показники якості всіх досліджених зразків біофортифікованих гарбузових овочів були вищими порівняно з контролем.
Constructing Reference Plans of Two-Criteria Multimodal Transport Problem

The object of this study is a multicriteria transport problem, being stated for availability of several means of cargo delivery, meaning a multimodal transport problem. The optimization criteria of the multimodal transport problem described above are two objective functions of minimizing total transportation costs and level of transport risks. Three types of transport were selected for research: automobile, rail and river (inland waterway). The results of the study lay the foundation for development of a new valid algorithm for solving multimodal transport problems like multi-criteria optimization ones. The main advantage of such an algorithm lies in its higher potential convergence rate compared to classical numerical optimization methods, which now are predominantly used to solve the problems of this type. This advantage may not be decisive, but it appears to be at least quite an important argument when choosing the method of realization for two-criteria multimodal transport problems earlier considered, especially, in case of a large dimension. Moreover, the algorithm described in the work can be applied to similar problems with any number of types of transport and optimization criteria.
Criteria for evaluation of efficiency of remote administration software

The work is devoted to solving the problem of evaluating the effectiveness of remote administration software (PZVA) according to certain criteria. The concept of efficiency of PZVA is revealed in the work, criteria of efficiency of software, actions and means for their development and use are defined. Efficiency means the ability of software to provide appropriateper formance depending on the number of computingre sources used in the established conditions. Resources may in clude other software, software and hardware configuration of the system and materials. It is noted that efficiency includes a number of characteristics such as time behavior, resource use, and efficiency matching. The advantages of the above-mentioned criteria for evaluating the ELV and their disadvantages that reduce the objectivity of the evaluation of the effectiveness of the software are identified. Another important criterion is also analyzed – the security of the remote administration software. Due to the ever-increasing number of attacks on local area networks, new vulnerabilities in the software are constantly being discovered and, as a result, a new type of attack is emerging. The risks associated with insufficient connection security are considered. In addition, a huge disadvantage of using remote access programs is the defection of the perimeter of the local network. And in this regard, with the incompetent use of such software there is a risk of attackers using remote access programs. Thus, the criteria for the effectiveness of remote administration software are defined in the paper. This will allow to effectively evaluate remote administration software according to certain criteria, increase their quality and reliability, at the stage of system design and development to select software.
